The Universidade Fernando Pessoa will host, on May 20 and 21, 2026, the International Seminar “Challenges of Humanitarian Action Today”, bringing together specialists, researchers, and academics from different countries to discuss the current challenges of humanitarian action.
The event will feature the participation of lecturers and researchers from the Universidade Jean Piaget de Cabo Verde, who will address topics related to sustainable development, global studies, and research in Cape Verde, strengthening Cape Verdean academic presence in this important international space for reflection and debate.
The programme includes conferences, debates with civil society, and specialized workshops covering themes such as sustainability, bioethics, education, governance, and humanitarian action.
The sessions will be held in hybrid and online format.

Seminar Information
On the 23rd of this month, a group of students from the CCO and LTI programmes at the Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde will visit the community of Moia Moia, in São Domingos, as part of the university extension activities and the programmes of the Cultivar and Sala Verde Morabeza de Cabo Verde projects.
The initiative aims to promote knowledge sharing, community engagement, and the development of educational and socio-cultural activities, reinforcing UniPiaget’s commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development.
UniPiaget of Cape Verde, through its Language Center, invites the academic community to participate in the Reading Club, a free activity dedicated to reading and sharing texts in Spanish.
This initiative offers the opportunity to explore short stories by different authors, exchange ideas, clarify doubts, and enjoy an intercultural moment with other students and Spanish speakers.
